Health Education

The School endeavours to give students a sound education and inculcate in them confidence,

self- reliance and the spirit of sportsmanship through Physical and Health education.

Health education aims at;

  • Developing the Motor skills
  • Skills- pertaining to worthy of leisure timings
  • A vast ground and innumerable sports’ accessories add flavour to this developmental programme. Through rigorous and planned training given to the children, they actively participate in the intra and inter school competitions at the district, state and national level.

YOGA

Yoga is a skill in the performance of actions. Yoga acts as a catalyst and unravels the many wonderful qualities that children possess. Apart from the apparent physical benefits, it helps the child become aware and focused. Even special children with learning disorders benefit immensely with yoga. Yoga enhances the power of thinking, creativity which inturn helps to develop the overall personality of the child. Yoga, adapted for school children, develops body awareness, language, good listening skills, cooperation and powers of observation. It teaches pre-school children about nature, their environment and inspires their imaginations. It prepares them for breathing techniques used in yoga. They learn by playing, singing, moving and imitating.

Practicing yoga regularly helps to;

  • Build self- esteem and confidence
  • Creativity and imagination
  • Develop strong, flexible and healthy bodies
  • Experience relaxed state of body and mind
  • Yoga is an integral part of school curriculum. The students from class II to X are learning this ancient form of science- yoga. Under the able guidance of qualified yoga instructor, students have actively taken part in many interschool competitions and have secured prizes.
