Janagraha is a non-profit Organisation that aims to strengthen democracy in India by working for citizen participation in urban local Government.

The Janagraha team conducted “I Change My City Challenge and taking the first step towards being an Active Citizen”. Over 3000 schools across India took part in this event. Thereby 25 schools were selected to National level and one among those school was our JSS School HBR layout chosen for ALL India level.

Well, the winners from various schools in the country displayed their projects at the two days interactive session which were held at Indian Social Institute on 10th Feb at Benson Town with various activities , games, treasure hunt etc.

And on 11th Feb the event was organised at Bengaluru International centre, Domlur and was the culmination of the “ I Change My City Challenge” that went on from Aug 2019 to Dec 2019 where the students were given the task to identify a civic issue affecting their neighbourhood and come up with an innovative and implementable solution to address it. From dustbins made out of newspaper to smart irrigation system, the students from various schools in the country displayed their project at the event.

Lastly, Prize distribution ceremony which was jointly organised by Bangalore–based non-profit organisation Janagraha and Cisco sponsored the prizes for the winners. The Director Legal and General Counsel Cisco Mr. Joginder Yadav honoured and awarded the successful students, Principal and teachers with prizes and certificates and a brief report on Janagraha were delivered with a motivational speech.

At last the program ended with a vote of thanks and a national anthem.
