JSS Public School, HSR Layout celebrated the 72ndIndependence Day with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour on 15th August, 2018. On this special occasion, the programme started with flag hoisting by the Chief Guest Sri. M. Satish Reddy and the National Anthem was sung in unison. It was followed by the March past and prayer song.The school Captain Master Amithabh Ramesh Introduced the Chief guests and welcomed the gathering. A patriotic dance ‘Namo Namo Bharatambe ……’ was presented by the girls of class V and VI. A melodious patriotic song ‘Takat watan ki tumse he ……’ was sung by the boys of class VII. The Chief Guest Sri. M. Satish Reddy addressed the gathering, appealing to their nationalistic spirit and urged them to take pride in being an Indian and fulfilling one’s duty with responsibility. He also emphasised the role of youth today as the true wealth of a country.

The students were felicitated for academic, sports and other achievements by the chief guest. The Nursery students presented a foot tapping patriotic dance. It was followed by the rejuvenating yoga and mass drills presented by the students of primary and senior wings. The students of class IV presented a tableau depicting Mahatma Gandhi’s Dandi March and Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. To keep alive the flame of patriotism, the students of class X performed an Uttarakhand dance and a Karnataka dance depicting the theme of ‘Ek Bharat Shresth Bharat’.

In accordance with the ‘Prakriti Mahotsav’ the Chief Guest and the Principal planted some saplings in the school garden.

The celebration culminated with the vote of thanks by Akanksha Kurup of class XI followed by the sweet distribution to the children.
