INTER SCHOOL STORY TELLING COMPETITION

STORY

Storytelling is a unique way for students to develop an understanding, respect and appreciation for other cultures, and can promote a positive attitude towards people from different lands, races and religions.

To acknowledge and showcase our love for stories JSS Public School, HSR Layout organized an Inter School Story telling competition in its premises on 7th August 2018, in which students from twenty schools participated. The competition was for Pre-primary students. The participating schools were –

Police Public School , I Wonder Y, Lawrence High School , Bethany Junior School, Carmel Garden School , First Guide Kids, Oxford School, St.Francis School, Kids Paradise, Bachpan Play School, Cambridge Public School, Global Montessori Centre, JSS Public School, Banshankari , Samsidh Mount Literra Zee School, Freedom International School, SJR Public School, HBR Layout, Golden Arch Montessori and Grammar Public School.

The participants displayed excellent memory and recapitulation skills. The young, enthusiastic storytellers armed with their beautiful props came forth with wonderful tales.

The chief guests for judging the event were Mrs. Bhavana Jose (Certified special educator for children with learning disabilities), Mrs. Lily Sahay (Principal, The Brigade School, Whitefield) and Mrs. Sheela Victor (Principal of Academy of Excellence). They judged the performance of the students on the basis of expression, confidence, diction and presentation skills.

Result

First position-      Shwetapadma Muduli from St. Francis School

Second position-    Darshini Karthikeyan from JSS Public School, HSR Layout

Third position-     Aadya Jain from Global Montessori Centre, HSR Layout and Srishti
                           Sharma from St. Francis School.

The event ended with our Principal, Mrs. Geetika Kharola giving her insights on diction and pronunciation to help the students take their performances a notch higher.
